What better way to start your Sunday than with a good book at the breakfast table?
"The book begins with the question: What are the struggles, entanglements, and joys of practicing unlearning in predominantly Western contexts? It responds to this question through revisiting the artistic research projects Sites for Unlearning, (co-) initiated by the artist. The sites are experimental gatherings where the aim is to collaboratively unlearn dominant forms of thinking and doing, and the affective production of impossibilities within institutions in order to intervene in social injustices. The publication weaves together artistic projects, invited essays, collective conversations, and scenes, creating a scaffolding—a support structure—for practicing unlearning."
During this Sunday morning, we will dive deeper into this publications that has particularly inspired. In the meantime, we’ll enjoy a fresh, local brunch buffet, prepared by the chefs at The Eatery, Timelab’s new lunch café.
We want to share the joy of reading and thinking together — exchanging ideas, agreeing, and perhaps also disagreeing on the insights we gather. Everyone is welcome to join the conversation and bring their unique perspective to the table. You certainly don’t need to be an expert.
The texts we explore are written in English, and that will be the language for our discussion. However, feel free to contribute in other languages — we’ll start from a shared reference point and explore new directions together.
Let us know if you have any dietary needs.
This session is for anyone interested in gaining awareness of our dominant ways of thinking and doing, shaped by Western contexts. Together, we’ll reflect on these patterns and, with the help of this book, work collaboratively toward unlearning them. Whether you're a facilitator, coach, teacher, designer, or artist—we're all shaped by our surroundings, and this is a powerful call for the nevessity to unlearn!
We look forward to reading, eating, and thinking together!
We only have a limited number of spots! Sign up in time.
