Wij van Timelab verwelkomen mensen, organisaties en groepen die vragen stellen, hacken en prototypen.

Bij het ontwerpen van lokale alternatieve voor globale thema’s verstoren we al eens bestaande plannen, maar door verbeeldingskracht, zelfreflectie en concrete acties bouwen we mee aan het vertrouwen in nieuwe werkvormen. Instinctief geven we zo een reeks voorbeelden, als bakens voor een gedeelde toekomst.

Al doende en via samenwerking met overheden, bedrijven en privé organisaties zagen verschillende nieuwe burgerinitiatieven, start-ups, kunstprojecten en innovatieve onderzoeksinitiatieven reeds het licht.

Waaronder Atelier De Stad Gent, Ginderella, Knotplex, Nest en RSL op Post. De Schuur is zo een project in ontwikkeling.

Artists in residency Program 2019

In 2019, Timelab’s residency program focuses on prototyping an alternative model to the traditional artist residency. Six artists have been invited by Timelab sprinters (learn more about roles and process here) to experiment with, and reshape the residency program as a commons.

This open ended process begins with an introduction week from June 18^th– 24^th at de Schuur, an open space where the network of communities of Timelab become visible and interact. The goal of the introduction week is for invited artists and sprinters to get to know each other, become familiar with the concept of Timelab’s residency and plan the prototyping phase (October – December).

The goal of the prototyping phase is to create an alternative model to a residency program, a structure that can lead to a ‘future cooperative’. The residency itself is a format that gives time and space for artists to prototype and research this new model. This is a vision that can also remain open after the week.

The introduction week is a moment to negotiate goals as a group by brainstorming solutions (using various frameworks) to critical questions related to the development of the residency program as a commons.
