Frank Merkx believes in creativity, the power of storytelling, connecting people and the overall magic of the cosmos. Together with his best friend Robbert they form the artist duo and collective Robbert&Frank Frank&Robbert. They collaborate since 2008 and are active in the fields of performance, visual arts and contemporary theater. During their 2019 residency art ABA Berlin, they have been creating small rituals. Rituals, symbols and transformation have been key concept of their practice ever since. From 2016 - 2022 Frank was part of a Brussels based thinktank focusing on arts&sciences. He’s (co)author of various essays and a few books. Frank has been focused on European neolitical rituals. Furthermore he has a special interest in China. He has been doing residencies and travels in Hong Kong and mainland China. He’s studying Chinese for over 6y and has been diving into the endless world of the Dao, Tao Te King, the iTjing and the works of Lao Tzu. Frank collects iTjing books in various translations and tarot decks.
