With the launch of Aroy Aroy, Michael Blanckaert and his brother became household names in downtown Ghent. Their restaurant brought a refined taste of Thailand to the city, blending Michael’s seven years of experience in Thailand with Jason’s expertise as a chef. Together, they created an elegant and flavorful dining experience that captured the hearts of food lovers.
However, at the end of last year, the brothers decided to close Aroy Aroy permanently, each pursuing new paths. Michael shifted his focus back to his passion for photography and is now seizing the opportunity to further develop the concept at the Eatery and put his shoulders to the Foodways project.
