Hello everyone. I am a fashion design student at KASK Gent.
In my creations it is important to work with materials that are convenient. What is available? How
can I manipulate a material so much that it becomes something new? Hereby is the factor of playing and experimenting particularly important. The waste mountain is growing. What can we do to stop it from growing? Or growing slower? Or maybe shrinking?
What is from considerable importance? The process. The breathing space to let a process grow is a necessity. Creations grow, change, go to sleep, sprout, wander, regrow, grow stronger or sometimes they just die. During my work process it is essential to be openminded and aware of the things that happen, big and small. It is also about trusting the process and knowing that the flow shows the way.
And then the social frame. How to fit what we create in an execution that contributes on a social
level. Let’s start with ourselves. Thinking out of the box and to open our mindset are the keywords.
Nothing is too crazy, and nothing is too simple. Ideas lead to other ideas. So, coming together with a curious mindset to push, inspire, challenge, and connect with each other sounds like music in my ears.
