[workshop] TranseuropaOpen: commons, sport & art
Deze lezing en workshop wil mensen samenbrengen vanuit sport, kunst en activisme, rond het thema van de commons, met een verkenning van een best practice uit het voetbal. KAA Gent is de eerste en enige club in België, en een van de weinige in Europa, die een commons-aanpak tot eigenaarschap, beleid en structuur hebben opgenomen. We zullen deze commoning praktijk verkennen door de lens van sport als aanzet voor ons denken in het voetbal en daarbuiten. Hoe kunnen we dit geval gebruiken om herhaling van deze praktijken te bevorderen, maar ook om parallellen te maken als opportuniteiten voor het ontwikkelen, maken, in stand houden van de commons in andere gebieden. Uit deze discussies en sessies, willen we het Voetbal in de Stad model als een voorbeeld gebruiken in het ontwikkelen van een publicatie over Sport Commons.
Als onderdeel van het programma, zal Zeljko Blace (ccSPORT) zijn Diversity Kickertable – Football for All voorstellen, gemaakt met aanpassingen van community-leden met verschillende achtergronden.
Caitlin Fisher zal een performance brengen die de thema’s van belichaming, gender in performance, Westerse, atletische vrouwelijkheid. Fischer roept vragen op over krachten onder het neoliberale kapitalisme zoals ze gevoeld worden op het lichaam en onze bewegingen, expressie en capaciteit voor connectie beïnvloeden.

The workshop will bring people together across sport/art/activism fields around the theme of the commons, exploring the concept through a best practice in football. KAA Gent is the first and only club in Belgium, and one of the few around Europe, to have taken a commons approach to ownership, governance and structure. We will explore this commoning practice through the lens of sport to get us all thinking about the commons in and beyond the field of football. How can we draw on this case to encourage the replication of such practices, but also to draw parallels to opportunities for developing, creating, maintaining, and sustaining the commons in other areas. Out of these discussions and sessions, we will document the Voetbal in de Stad model as an example of a best practice as part of developing a ‘SPORT Commons’ publication.
As part of the program Zeljko Blace (ccSPORT) will present his Diversity KickerTable - Football for All, made through modifications by community members of different backgrounds.
Caitlin Fisher will do a performance piece that addresses embodiment, gendered performance, Western athletic femininity. Fisher raises questions about the intersecting forces under neoliberal capitalism as they are felt on the body and how they are impacting our movement, expression, and capacity for connecting.
