Open rehearsal: public speaking #1

28 May 2026

"Open Rehearsals" is a warm, explorative, playful and instructive learning and networking environment, hosted by the International Artistic Collective around Ralf Wetzel, Anna Noppen, Hanne Lievens, and Stien Michiels. Every Open Rehearsal circles around a specific subject, which will be approached by means of performative art forms like improvisation, singing, clown, painting/drawing, movement, somatic work, and more. These sources necessarily are being complemented by relevant cognitive frameworks and tools. There is no prior knowledge required. Simply an interest in the subject, a basic openness to explore it in a very interactive and playful way is enough. Open Rehearsals invite a diverse audience, from leaders, facilitators, consultants, and coaches via artists and academics to just everybody who's curious to explore more. Every Open Rehearsals have a dedicated facilitator, and strongly invite for peer-exchange and peer-support.

The first Open Rehearsal is dedicated to the topic of public speaking. Almost everybody has been standing in front of a group, with probably enough moments of bliss and of failure to share, and everyone can bring insights to learn from and has areas of improvement. That's the juice we want to activate, and learn from collectively.

The facilitator of Open Rehearsal #1 is Ralf, an experienced leadership development expert, who has worked over the past 17 years for top tier European Business Schools. He has developed an art-based approach to leadership development, using the power of Applied Improvisation, theatre clown, movement and social dance for preparing modern leadership to thrive in times of uncertainty, surprise and disruption. He's also a theatre performer and tours international fringe festivals and local theatres alike.
