Growing up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, I've always connected deeply to the nature that makes the city. My journey began with clothes, creating a locally produced fashion brand. This ultimately led me to Bocconi University in Milan to study Economics and Management for Arts, Culture, and Communications. Realizing the environmental cost of production and creation, I shifted my focus to developing sustainable materials.
Throughout my master's in Design through New Materials at Elisava in Barcelona, I explored mycelium as a material. My practice involves understanding mycelium's natural growth and replicating it in controlled environments to create a range of materials. I believe mycelium represents the future of materials, thriving on waste and remediating environments.
As a designer, economist, mycologist, and researcher, my goal is to drive ECOnomic and ECOlogical innovation in sustainable material design.
