Summercamp Fiber Fever 24: Exploring Biomaterials
5 partners challenge 15 designers on a 10 days 24/7 yearly summercamp to make, eat, play, learn and meet in the Timelab jungle. This years topic is Exploring Biomaterials.
I'm a microbiologist and material designer. After completed by PhD in 2021, I decided that I wanted to engage more actively in materialising socio-ecological transitions. and co-founded my non-profit Hier&na VZW. I believe in the power of material design to change the way people perceive their surroundings, and started professionalising this by completing a masters in 'Design through New Materials' at Elisava in Barcelona. Since this time, I have been consulting for a research group in Paris looking at 3D printing waste materials for further activation/strengthening via microbial processes.
