Summercamp Fiber Fever 23 : Braided ribbons
5 partners challenge 15 designers on a 10 days 24/7 yearly summercamp to make, eat, play, learn and meet in the Timelab jungle. This years topic is Braiding techniques.
My name is Kaan, I’m 21 years old and I’m an engineering student at VUB. I have a big interest in robotics and mechanics. I like the convenience of modern electronics, but I also like thinking about solving problems using as little electronics as possible and relying more on mechanical principles. It’s therefore also no surprise that I’m a big watch nerd and I love tinkering with mechanical watches. I’m always busy with a ton of projects at the same time. I’m currently working on machining a vintage German screwdriver and some metal pens. I also love repairing electronics and just restoring things in general. Right now, I’m trying to get a mechanical keyboard working again and I’m restoring some vintage lighters. I learn way better from doing things myself than I do by reading textbooks. I also have a lot of non-engineering related hobbies, like cooking, embroidering, watching One piece, home renovation and many other things
