Vladimir Kaigorodov
Vladimir Kaigorodov was born in a small town near Ural Mountain, Russia, later he attended college in Volgograd (todays’ Stalingrad) and later graduated from Moscow State University as an experimental biologist.
After completing a PhD, Kaigorodov spent four years working in Japan. After which he finally landed in Belgium, in the local University of Gent, where he currently resides.
Thanks to the crisis of 2008 His scientific carrier was delayed, which gave him the opportunity to become an artist. Vladimir entered the world of art with a scientific approach and laboratory experience.
Making experiments on the crossroads of art and science, (paintings, objects, video, installations, events, gadgets), he works on re-inventing DNA code and views the genomes of living organisms as a new durable art-media.
